Migrate / Canada / Others / International Mobility Program
If the position serves Canada's cultural and economic interests, the International Mobility Program (IMP) allows Canadian employers to hire foreign workers without an LMIA. This results in faster processing and an easier application process than the Temporary Foreign Worker Program, which requires an LMIA and is labour market dependent.
An LMIA is a document that proves a Canadian employer tried to fill a job locally but was unsuccessful, allowing them to hire a foreign employee.
There are various work permit streams and programs that fall under the IMP, many of which could eventually give you the opportunity to apply for permanent residency through various provincial programs or federal economic programs such as the Canadian Experience Class, which is part of the Express Entry system.
