The UK government offers all Indian students the opportunity to study in the country, but you must first obtain a student visa. The type of visa you require will be determined by your age and the type of study you wish to pursue in the UK.

You can apply for a student visa at least six months before the start of your course, and you will receive a decision within three working weeks under normal circumstances.

We recommend that you plan your arrival based on the length of your course. If your course is for six months or less, you can arrive in the UK up to one week before, but if your course is for more than six months, you can arrive up to one month before.

  • To be eligible for a student visa, you must :

Requirements for International Students to Study in the UK

If you want to do your Bachelor's in the UK, you must have a grade point average of 70-80%. Aside from that, the minimum IELTS score should be 6.0.

You must have at least a 60% in your Bachelor's degree in the field for which you have applied. Furthermore, almost all of the top universities accept a CGPA of 6.5 or 7. The IELTS score should be between 6.5-7, and the TOEFL score should be between 90 and 110.

To do a Doctoral Program in the UK, you would need at least 60% in your Master's Degree. The IELTS score should be 7, TOEFL score 100, PTE score 66, CPE score 185, and CAE score 185.

The English Language Proficiency Test would be used to determine eligibility for Diploma Programs. You may be required to take tests such as IELTS, TOEFL, and PTE.



What Exams are Required to Study in the UK ?

The exams prove that English proficiency is required for any non-native English speaker to study in the UK. You can choose one among them according to your university or course demands.

Almost all universities around the world accept the TOEFL. It is usually done in two ways: on paper and on the internet. The grade differs depending on the university and course. A minimum score of 70 is required, and more prestigious universities, such as the University of Cambridge, require a score of 110.

IELTS is used in countries such as the United Kingdom, the United States, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand, and a minimum score of 6.0 is required to attend any university in the United Kingdom.

PTE is another well-known test among universities in Scotland, England, and Ireland, among others. To pass the test and gain admission to the university of your choice, you must have a PTE score of 50 - 63.

The Standard English Proficiency Tests are made up of these components. There are, however, other subject-specific tests. For example, the GMAT is used for business degrees, the LNAT for law, the MAT for mathematics, and the GAMSAT for medical school.
