The first PNP in Canada was the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP). In 1998, it was turned into a permanent immigration scheme.
Based on the province's economic and labour market demands, the initiative was started to aid in the expansion of its economy through immigration. The MPNP has had great success in Manitoba. In fact, without it, Manitoba's GDP could have decreased by as much as 30%.
It has two pathways :
Work Experience Pathway in Manitoba
This route is for individuals who have a temporary work permit and are currently employed in Manitoba. This covers contract employees and foreign graduates from post-secondary institutions in Canada.
Pathway for Employer Direct Recruitment
You must participate in an interview with a Manitoba company and an MPNP representative in order to be qualified for this programme. These interrogations take place outside of Canada. Before submitting an application via this channel, you must obtain an invitation to apply.

The Skilled Worker Overseas Stream consists of two pathways:
Manitoba Express Entry Pathway
People who are qualified under another MPNP stream and have an active Express Entry profile should follow this route. These candidates must also have a close connection to Manitoba and experience in one of the professions on Manitoba's list of In-Demand Occupations.
Human Capital Pathway
This pathway is for foreign skilled workers with experience in an occupation listed Manitoba's In-demand Occupations.

Farm Investor Pathway
This route is for those who want to immigrate to Manitoba and set up and run a farm there and have experience in the farming industry.
Entrepreneur Pathway
The province can identify and nominate qualified foreign business owners to relocate to Manitoba through the Entrepreneur Pathway. They must be capable of co-owning an existing firm or having the desire to start one from scratch. They must do this within the first two years of their temporary work visa arrival in Manitoba.

The International Education Stream (IES) is intended to offer quicker avenues to permanent residency for Manitoba graduates who fulfil the demands of business. The three pathways in this stream are the Graduate Internship Pathway, the Student Entrepreneur Pathway, and the Career Employment Pathway.
For foreign graduates of Manitoban educational institutions who are employable, there is the International Education Stream (IES). Graduates can take advantage of quicker routes to permanent residency thanks to the IES. There are three possibilities available to you :
Career Employment Pathway
The Career Employment Pathway is for post-secondary graduates who have long-term employment in Manitoba in an in-demand occupation.
Graduate Internship Pathway
The Graduate Internship Pathway is for foreign master's and doctoral degree holders who have successfully completed an Accelerate or Elevate internship with Mitacs, a company that collaborates with the province of Manitoba to assist in providing internships to foreign graduates.
International Student Entrepreneur Pathway
Up to 20 international graduates of a Manitoba educational institution have the chance to start their own businesses in Manitoba thanks to the International Student Entrepreneur Pathway. Before they can be proposed for permanent residence, they must fulfil the terms of a business performance agreement.
