THE NEW BRUNSWICK PROVINCIAL NOMINEE PROGRAM (NBPNP)
New Brunswick, the largest of Canada's three Maritime Provinces, is situated below Quebec's Gaspe Peninsula and close to the American state of Maine.
Compared to other of Canada's larger provinces, New Brunswick offers excellent career prospects and a reasonable cost of living. Newcomers to New Brunswick have the option of settling in either rural areas or major cities like Fredericton, Saint John, or Moncton. The province is renowned for its numerous outdoor recreation areas, as well as its stunning rivers and lakes.
Through the New Brunswick Provincial Nominee Program, prospective immigrants who possess the knowledge and experience the government is looking for may receive a provincial nomination (NBPNP).
Express Entry Stream
The federal Express Entry immigration selection mechanism can be used by the NBPNP through this stream to address the unique demographic and labour market needs of New Brunswick. This stream employs an "Expression of Interest" form of operation.
Minimum Requirements :
The following requirements must be met :
- Must have a current address in New Brunswick;
- Must have an active Express Entry profile;
- Must have a Job Seeker Validation Code or proof of enrolment in a PGWP-eligible program at a federally recognized post-secondary institution;
- Must have valid language test results in either English or French equal to Canadian Language Benchmark Level 7; (CLB 7).
Skilled Workers Stream
The province of New Brunswick accepts applications from people who have been given a full-time, long-term job offer by a New Brunswick employer.
Minimum Requirements :
- Must have a full-time, permanent work offer from an approved New Brunswick employer and a letter of support from them;
- Must possess a secondary (high school) diploma from Canada or a foreign high school diploma that is equivalent to a Canadian certification.
- Must be between the ages of 19 and 55;
- Must have a valid score on either an English or French language test equal to Canadian Language Benchmark Level 4. (CLB 4).
Business Immigration Stream
Applications under this category are accepted from people who want to establish and actively run a business in New Brunswick. It is required of applicants to invest money in the company.
Minimum Requirements :
- Must have earned an academic degree from a college or university that needed at least three years of full-time study, or a diploma in a particular trade that took at least two years of full-time study, in order to submit an Expression of Interest.
- Must be able to provide proof of a personal net worth minimum of $600,000 CAD. The net worth must be easily available and unencumbered to the extent of at least $300,000 CAD.
- Must be between the ages of 22 and 55;
- Must have valid language test results equal to Canadian Language Benchmark Level 5 in either English or French (CLB 5).
Strategic Initiative Stream
This program is intended for Francophone employees who want to live and work in the province permanently and who have the training, education, and work experience necessary to contribute to the province's economy.
Minimum Requirements :
- Must be between the ages of 19 and 55;
- Must have a valid language test score in either French equal to a Niveaux de competence linguistique canadiens (NCLC) 5;
- Must intend to reside in New Brunswick;
- Must have a qualifying connection to New Brunswick;
- Must have a minimum Canadian secondary (high school) diploma or a foreign high school diploma equal to a Canadian credential;
- Must have the required amount of settlement funds;
